RSI Simcon has been awarded the contract of the OTS of the Gas Production Platform plus the Medium Compression Platform for its offshore Yadana site.

RSI Simcon has been awarded a contract to develop an OTS of PQU Steam-Cracker, Santa-André, SP, Brazil.

The Project deals with the migration of the Simcon X OTS, delivered in 1994, into INDISS environment and includes extensions in the simulation scope.

Following RSI SIMCON successful developments of customized OTS for Petrobras refineries, Petrobras has decided to equip nine sites (7 refineries, the Cenpes research center and one Power Plant) with INDISS environment.

RSI Simcon has been awarded by Total a contract to migrate the FCC Plants Simulators, initially developed on Sorya simulation platform into INDISS environment.

The two refineries concerned are Donges (France) and Leuna (Germany).

RSI SIMCON is proud to announce the award of the Operator Training Simulator for the Yemen LNG MR APCI liquefaction plant (Yemen LNG CompanyLtd/Technip).

The Plant will be located in Bal-Haf, on the coast of the Gulf of Aden, approximately 160 kilometers west of Al-Mukalla.

RSI SIMCON has ben awarded a contract for the development of Operator Training Simulators the whole Dung Quat Refinery (DQR) complex of Petrovietnam.

The refinery shall be built at the Dung Quat Industrial Zone, located in Binh Thuan and Binh Tri communes of the Binh Son district in the Quang Ngai province of Vietnam.
The OTS models shall simulate the following process units of the Dung Quat refinery:

1. Crude Distillation Unit
2. Continuous Catalytic Reformer Unit
3. Residue Fluidised Catalytic Cracking Unit
4. LCO Hydrotreater Unit

RSI SIMCON has delivered three dynamic simulators for refining processes by Uhde GmbH, one of the world's leading engineering companies in the design and construction of chemical, refining and other industrial plants.

The HDS, Vacuum Distillation and Catalytic Reforming simulators are dedicated to the Uhde's training center in Alexandria to train the operating staff of Egyptian refineries and, in a later phase, in the entire MENA region. The simulators were presented by Uhde during the German Egyptian Technology Symposium in October 2005.
The first on-site training session on Catalytic Reforming has been held in April 2006 by RSI SIMCON for three engineers from MIDOM (Middle East Operation & Maintenance for Oil Refineries) Company operating in the MIDOR (Middle East Oil Refinery Company) in Alexandria.

RSI SIMCON has been awarded a contract for the development of operator training simulators (emulation type) for the aromatic complex of Aromatics Oman LLC (AOLLC).

This project is part of the contract awarded by AXENS which includes the licenses of all the processes involved in the aromatic complex.

RSI, as AXENS' favourite simulator supplier, announced that has been awarded, through AXENS North America, a contract for a Coal Liquefaction Plant Operator Training Simulator by China’s Shenhua Coal Liquefaction Company Ltd.

The software application will be jointly developed by RSI SIMCON and HKD.

RSI SIMCON has delivered an Offshore and Onshore facilities Generic Simulator to AGIP KCO (Agip KCO: Agip Kazakhstan North Caspian Operating Company, an Eni company) Training Center in Atyrau .

The Simulator has been validated with actual data from sites. It provides a replica of a real DCS system used to control the process. The Trainees have the “look and feel” of a real DCS.
The dynamic simulator provides a cost effective and highly efficient training environment. It reproduces the functionality of a real DCS and is updatable. The Simulator is based on State of the Art INDISS License, a RSI SIMCON PC based Real Time High Fidelity Dynamic Simulation environment.

Advanced Process Control (APC) project with AXENS.

MiRO (Mineral Oil Refinery Oberrhein) in Karlsruhe is Germany's largest refinery and one of the most important suppliers of petroleum products in southwest Germany. MiRO refines 15 million tons of crude oil a year, producing valuable petroleum products such as gas, propylene, petrol, diesel, heating oil and bitumen.

INDISS: A step ahead in the low temperature dynamic simulation of LNG processes

AXENS , worldwide leading process technology Company, has awarded RSI SIMCON a new contract to develop a dynamic simulator for its Liquefin™ process, a new process for Liquefaction of Natural Gas (LNG).
The simulator will include a rigorous simulation of the cold box (braised aluminum plate-fin heat exchanger) and the refrigeration loop through the entire temperature range (from 40°C to -160°C). AXENS will use RSI SIMCON high fidelity simulator to develop its process design. AXENS has selected RSI SIMCON after a detailed assessment of INDISS™ following a 2-year collaborative work on its process.
With this project RSI SIMCON takes INDISS™ a step ahead in the low temperature simulation and in LNG process design.

RSI: Simulation Solutions in extreme conditions:
RSI SIMCON has been selected by Nuovo Pignone, General Electric Group, to perform a dynamic simulation study of the Raw Gas Injection as part of the Kazakhstan East Field.

The Kashagan East Field , consisting of sour gas, is located in the Caspian Sea offshore Kazakhstan, some 80 km South of Atyrau. The Experimental Program including the wells, pipelines, offshore and onshore processing facilities will be constructed and installed over a period of time, which goes from 2004 to 2008.

The challenge of this study is the very high level of pressure (760 bars) at the compressor discharge, the highest discharge pressure ever developed for gas injection.
The RSI SIMCON dynamic simulation study , on both the Raw Gas Injection (RGI) compression trains with the following objectives:

• To verify the operating capability of the compression unit with the proposed control schemes, identify potential problems and suggest the required modifications.
• To check the proposed start-up and shut-down procedures and to recommend any change if necessary.
• To determine the adequacy of the equipment design, protection and safety system, as centrifugal compressor, anti-surge protection and HIPPS protection system.
• To verify and validate the capability of the control system configuration and tuning to react to upset/transient conditions, and suggest the required modifications.
• To verify the capability of the control system configuration and tuning to shorten the commissioning and troubleshooting time.

RSI SIMCON has just delivered a cryogenic application to CRYOSTAR.

This new reference, consolidates the expertise of RSI SIMCON in the field of very low temperatures.

RSI SIMCON has delivered an engineering study, a DES and an OTS for the DALIA field, operated by TOTAL Angola E&P, located offshore Angola, approximately 150 kilometers from the coast.

The simulator scope includes:

• a FPSO in charge of oil separation and compression facilities
• a deep offshore wellhead platform consisting of 34 production wells, 30 water injection wells and 3 gas injection wells
• multiphase transportation using OLGA™ software from ScandPower. The whole simulator means that the models achieved with OLGA are fully integrated in the INDISS simulator thanks to INDISS/OLGA bi-directional interface developed by RSI.

The OTS is a FOXBORO DCS stimulation.

RSI SIMCON supplies DCN, a world leader in prime contracting for fully integrated warships, with a dynamic simulation study about the design of steam-producing boilers for warships.

The Boiler Simulator and the studies have been developed on INDISS™ simulation platform. DCN, equipped with INDISS™, will go on working with the Simulator for its engineering program.

RSI SIMCON / HKD successfully delivered an OTS of Ethane and Naphtha Steam-Cracker (Malaysia).

The Plant - consisting of an Ethylene Plant Hot section, Cold Section and Steam Boiler. The Operator Training Simulator is dedicated to emulate the Honeywell TDC 3000 Distributed Control System (DCS) for enhanced training and operation issues.

TOTAL has awarded RSI SIMCON a dynamic simulation study for the revamping of the LUSSAGNET Gas Storage and Compression Plant.

The objective of the study is to test an innovative technical solution for the protection of the gas network, that would comply with the important environmental and cost constraints of the project.
The study was based on the fine modelling of reciprocating compressors and corresponding security devices.
Various simulation runs have led to the validation of the foreseen solution.

RSI SIMCON delivered 3 OTS (Ethylene Oxide / Ethylene Glycol, LDPE and Propionic Acid) for the New Integrated Petrochemical Site - Nanjing , Jiangsu province (Central China).

The OTS system (Partial Stimulation of Emerson DeltaV DCS) provides a replica of the plant behaviour that enables operators to be familiar with the processes and their different phases such as normal start up, normal shut down, emergency shut down.

RSI SIMCON is developing both a Dynamic Engineering Simulator (DES) and a Operator Training Simulator (OTS) for the the Sable Offshore wellhead platforms and treatment facilities, Halifax (Canada).

The DES has been successfully delivered in November, 2004.
The OTS, still in progress, consists of a full emulation of the ABB PPB DCS.

RSI SIMCON has delivered a high-fidelity OTS of the Steam and fuel gas networks of boilers of the TOTAL Donges refinery.

Dedicated to operator training and engineering studies, the simulator accurately and realistically represents the entire range of operating situations from start-up to shutdown through upset conditions in order to meet rigorous training objectives for operators and plant engineers of all levels.

RSI SIMCON has developed one integrated simulator - Pipeline Management System (PMS) & Operator Training Simulator (OTS) with a foxboro emulation - dedicated to respond to Engineering and Training needs with a unique application for the OFFSHORE GAS FIELD PMS & OTS, Tierra del Fuego (Argentina).

The Carina and Aries gas fields are located in the hostile seas offshore the Argentinian coast of Tierra del Fuego, close to Cape Horn. The process includes two offshore wellhead platforms, Carina (4 wells) & Aries (3 wells) located respectively at water depths of 60 and 80 meters. Both platforms are connected to the onshore Rio Cullen Onshore Terminal, through a multiphase sub sea pipeline system, where the new output is processed.

RSI SIMCON has delivered a dynamic operator training simulator for a new 1-butene unit at a large petrochemical complex and initial startup of this unit. Later, during normal operations, the simulator would serve as part of an ongoing training program. It would be used as a tool to predict and analyze plant operations.

RSI SIMCON has implemented an OTS for the blending of gasoline, gas oil and fuel oils for a Total refinery (France).

RSI SIMCON has developed a huge dynamic simulator covering the entire aromatic complex consisting of 6 differents Units.

RSI SIMCON will participate in the Annual Global E&P Tech Summit in Barcelona, on October, 16-17.

RSI Simcon will be present at Second Annual LNG Tech Summit in Rotterdam, Netherlands, September, 11-12, 2007.

RSI Simcon will be present at the LNG North America Summit in Houston, on June, 19-20.

RSI SIMCON will participate in the 15^th International Conference™Exhibition on liquefied Natural Gas in Barcelona. RSI SIMCON will present posters and papers on its expertise, focusing on LNG carriers and LNG terminals modeling.

Mr. Philippe Vacher, RSI Simcon C.E.O., will participate in the Offshore and Onshore Oil and Gas Advanced Technologies Seminar (April, 4-5, 2007) at the Beijing Exhibition Center (Meeting Room 4).
